In 2001, ACE Feet in Motion was established to provide biomechanical gait analysis at the highest level. The Owner Bob Cooper established ACE when he saw a gap in the market for a Podiatry company that specialised solely in Biomechanics. Since then ACE has grown and is now a company employing more than 25 staff.
ACE quickly established itself in Wales as an honest, reliable company and has since grown in reputation, currently being official suppliers of podiatry to some of the U.K’s top sports clubs. We have also worked very closely with many of the regional rugby teams, Premier League football clubs and top level sporting establishments in Wales and England.
As the clinical arm to the business grew, there became more demand for manufacturing, initially to cover the needs of the clinic. With the help of our podiatrists and orthotists, we decided to make our own modular range of orthoses. The Feet in Motion insoles (better known as FiMs) were born and very quickly became an excellent device used by our podiatrist and orthotists, as well as many other healthcare professionals. For the more complex foot, the use of CADCAM (computer aided design computer aided manufacture) is used. This allows us to create a fully bespoke insole to cater for any foot type in any number of different materials.
Due to the success of the FiM’s and at the request of our orthotists, ACE was asked to look at a new range of insoles for children. The Paediatric FiM was born and has very quickly become the insole of choice for clinicians working with children across the UK. The success of these devices continues to amaze us and we are now looking into the possibility of exporting them across Europe.
